Barbara Pence Bernardo, Associate

Barbara Pence Bernardo received her law degree from the John Marshall Law School, Chicago, IL and her undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA.

Prior to joining Stiles, Taylor & Grace, P.A., she was a senior attorney with the law firm Joyner & Jordan-Holmes, which merged with Stiles, Taylor & Grace,P.A. on August 1, 2009.

Before relocating to Florida, she practiced in the area of insurance defense in Chicago where she worked as staff counsel for both Allstate and CNA Insurance Companies. During her time in Chicago, she served as and Arbitrator with American Arbitration Association, and as an Arbitrator with the Cook County, Illinois court system’s mandatory arbitration program.

She is a member of the Florida Bar, Hillsborough County Bar Association, The State of Illinois Bar, United States Federal District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and is a former arbitrator with the Better Business Bureau of West West Florida.

Her primary areas of practice are Civil Litigation, including Commercial & Personal Injury Defense. She serves as a key attorney for representing governmental entities litigation. Prior to obtaining her law degree, Ms. Bernardo taught multi-racial classes in bilingual, elementary and special education in the Chicago Public School system.

She is on the Board of Directors at Achieve Tampa Bay and is currently Vice President of the Board of Directors of The Better Business Bureau of West Florida.
