Annemarie Craft received her
B.A. in Political Science from the University of Illinois in 1982 and
her J.D. from Valparaiso University School of Law in 1985. She was
admitted to The Florida Bar in 1985.
Craft joined Stiles, Taylor &
Grace in July of 2002. Prior to joining the firm, she worked for the
Department of Labor, Division of Workers’ Compensation. After
graduating law school, Craft completed a one year fellowship with
Withlacoochee Area Legal Services in Ocala, Florida as a part of the
Regional Heber Smith Community Lawyer Program. Craft next worked for
Legal Services of North Florida in Tallahassee before taking a position
with the State of Florida, Department of Labor of Employment Security,
Division of Workers’ Compensation.
Craft was with the division
for fifteen years, first in the General Counsel’s office and then with
the Special Disability Trust Fund where she was the supervising attorney
for many years. She finished her time with the Department working as
the Interim Administrator for Workers’ Compensation and helping the
Division make the transition from the Department of Labor and Employment
Security to The Department of Insurance.
During her fifteen years with
the Division of Workers’ Compensation, Craft litigated cases at the
trial level, engaged in appellate advocacy in front of the First
District Court of Appeal, and administrative rules. She has spoken at
the Workers’ Compensation Educational Conference on many occasions and
written several magazine articles for the Workers’ Compensation Edition
of Florida Trend. Craft currently serves on The Florida Bar’s Workers’
Compensation Rules Committee.
