Geoffrey F. Rice received his law degree
(1984) and bachelor’s degree (magna cum laude, 1973) from Indiana
University, and a master’s degree (1974) from the University of Chicago.
Prior to joining Stiles, Taylor &
Grace, P.A. in 2001, Rice practiced railroad defense, anti-trust
defense, Federal Employers' Liability Act defense, workers' compensation
defense and banking law in Chicago for six years, beginning in 1984. He
then worked for Bank of America in international law and banking in
Singapore.
Rice practices workers' compensation
defense and employment law. He is a member of The Florida and Illinois
Bars and is admitted to practice before the Florida and Illinois Supreme
Courts, as well as the U.S. District Court (Northern Illinois). He is,
or has been, a member of the Sarasota Bar Association, the
Sarasota-Bradenton Claims Association, the Chicago Bar Association, the
American Bar Association, and the National Association of Railway Trial
Counsel.
A frequent speaker before employer
groups and insurance companies, Rice has lectured on such topics as
“Defending the Workers’' Compensation Claim,” and “Eight Ways to Reduce
Your Workers’ Compensation Insurance Premium.” He has represented
Florida insurance companies, hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, and
employee leasing companies, among other clients, since beginning his
practice in Florida. |
