Leesa Powell received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature and a minor degree in Spanish language from Florida Atlantic University in 1996. She received her law degree from University of Florida, College of Law in December 2001.

Powell has practiced in the field of worker's compensation law, criminal defense and international human rights. She joined the firm of Stiles, Taylor & Grace in June 2001 and currently specializes in worker's compensation law.
